Traditional vs modern way of mole removal

Thought of sharing with the readers out there especially those who are interested to get their moles removed; particularly on the face area since it is the most visible part on our body;readily to be seen. I myself done it twice; removing the 2 moles on my face; using both mentioned methods. Below I'm gonna list down all the pros and cons that I could possible think of.

Traditional method

Pros

1) Cheaper as it only cost me rm50.
2) You won't have the feeling like you're getting shoot right on your face as the thing used to remove the mole is only some liquid and cotton bud. It is gentler. Emotionally you are calmer and more relax.
3) You sit vertically instead of lying down like a patient. The feeling is definitely different I tell you. Psychologically, nervousness will hit you once you are lying horizontally; rather vertically.

Cons

1) My mole; which is kinda small; took me 2 session to completely get it removed. You see, some liquid are being applied to your mole; rather than lasering it; and killing the cells directly. So, using the traditional way may not completely remove that black spot of yours.
2) The area around the mole are redder and more swollen compared with the modern way as the liquid may seep or transfered to the skin/area surrounding the mole due to the usage of cotton bud.
3) The pain goes off slower compared with the laser removal method.
4) It may not be done by certified practitioner.- but heck, its just mole. not some organs or body part right??
5) You wouldn't know what is the content of the liquid used - kinda corrosive i presume since it is strong enough to remove the mole.

Modern way using laser technology

Pros

1) Done by skin specialist Dr.
2) Fastly done-maybe about 1 min for mole of the size 15mm.
3) Laser are directed directly at your mole; so it only kills the cells that you intend to kill - that is the cells of the mole.
4) More reliable (personal opinion) as I do not have to go for 2nd session - basically it zap off your mole on the spot.
5) Not much of a stinging sensation after the session compared with the traditional method.
6) Healing process are faster. Only small bit of scab; which is your killed and dried up mole.
7) Trusted method as it is laser technology - which is widely used.

Cons

1) Nervous breakdown when you are lying down getting ready to be zap.
2) The first laser zap to hit your face freak me out to the max - This is what my friend told me " wei sue ying very pain is it, the first time the lazer touches your face you jerk kinda hard" LOL... How embarassing can that be -_-". Can you imagine you get shoot at your face? Try to imagine.
3) Price-wise - this one cost me RM80; more expensive.
4) If your mole is big, probably you'll get injected just to anesthetize the area that are to be lazered.Urgh~

My final say? If i were to remove any mole of mine again, I'll go for the laser removal method. Slightly more expensive; but hey, you pay a good price for a better and more reliable technique right?

Leaf searching and tree climbing by Orang Asli

Can any normal human climb such trees; without any branches?
About 30 metre high above the ground?

And how can anyone expect me to climb up this tree if Im only with my sandals on? "Smart" of me to wear sandals and enter such areas with chances of getting sucked dry by leeches or God-knows-what creepy crawling creatures on the ground.

Thank god with the help of an Orang Ali; we managed to get our leaf used in the repellent research of ours. Naii; his name, is a young man, probably around early 20s; speaks almost perfect Bahasa Melayu-and this kinda took me by surprise when he entered our UKM van and started blabbering in BM with the driver. Talking about modern Orang Asli huh? Naii has travelled almost entire of Peninsular Malaysia; getting himself involved in tree-related work that need his expertise of tree climbing. He is indeed in highly demand by local universities which include UKM, UPM and the others. Why not? Can any normal human like us climb this tree? Not to say he is abnormal; but then LOL he is!! I think I rather put him as special!

A 30 minutes of chat with him at the coffeeshop; sipping our iced drinks while waiting for my two other fellow coursemates to pray is an eye opening conversation. I've no problem at all conversing BM with him because he speaks so so so much better than my own race of people; the chinese which actually has the opportunity to be taught in schools compared to Naii. How embarassing can that be?

Our hero of the day; Naii

Anyway back to the tree climbing story, without wasting any time; effortlessly Naii climbed up the tree in like 10-15 sc? Up he go, chop chop chop all the branches with the leaf and down it go and here we go below cutting and removing the leaf into our bags.

Tree climbing in action

And why do we need Orang Asli to climb all the way up to the tree? Simple, we need the leaf which only can be found high above the tree itself; for our research. Essential oil are to be extracted from the dried leaf of ours. The plant is also known as Litsea elliptica @ locally known as Medang Perawas.

Another "being smart" attitude of mine; this is the lesson to be learn if one do not put on long pants when you enter such bushy areas. Capri pant + no protection by any repellent product. Super combo skeeter's bite all over; not only my legs, also my arms. Eventually, I've reached to a point where I've become numb of the bites and continue doing my work ignoring the attack =(....

Whatever it is, a great and eye opening experience especially the brief moment with the Orang Asli; Naii~ Thank You Naii though you won't be able to read this!
